IG Markets Square Mile Challenge
Join us in celebrating the new partnership between IG Markets and Sky Pro Cycling at our Square Mile Challenge event in the heart of the City of London.
On Friday, 26 November 2010, IG Markets and Sky Pro Cycling will be taking over Broadgate Circle, near Liverpool Street Station, for a day of exciting pro racing action, free competitions and giveaways.
There will be plenty to see and do, as well as the opportunity to meet three of Team Sky's elite champions. Watch them race with commentary from Eurosport's Dave Harmon!
- Bradley Wiggins CBE – triple Olympic gold medallist, 4th in Tour de France
- Geraint Thomas MBE – Olympic gold medallist, current British Road Champion
- Ben Swift – Under-23 European Track Championship gold medallist, 4th in World Championships
Team Sky riders Bradley, Geraint and Ben will be racing against members of the public over a virtual one-mile race on our British Cycling-endorsed Wattbikes. Prizes are available for the fastest times, including a genuine reconditioned Team Sky racing bike, if anyone manages to beat one of the Team Sky champions!
What's on?
In addition to the races, we'll have a range of activities going on throughout the day:
- Meet the team! Our Team Sky Champions will be on hand all day, and will be available to meet and answer questions.
- Get a free bike health check. Visit our specialist on-site mechanic for minor repairs to your bike and maintenance advice.
- Win cycling prizes, including a Pinarello bike. Guess the closing level of the FTSE® for a chance to win a £1,200 Pinarello FP1 Team Sky Replica racing bike.
Get involved
The IG Markets Square Mile Challenge is completely free to attend, and will take place from 10am to 3.30pm at Broadgate Circle, Liverpool Street, London EC2. If you want to come along to soak up the atmosphere and watch the racing action, all you need to do is turn up at any point during the day.
