Stock Index CFD Spreads Cut in Half
We’ve cut our major stock index CFD spreads in half, reducing our FTSE® 100 Cash and Germany 30 to just 1 point and Wall Street Cash to 2 points.
We regularly review our trading spreads to ensure we remain highly competitive: with our latest spread cuts we have reduced our most popular indices to their lowest levels ever.
New spreads
This table shows the latest spread cuts on major stock index CFDs as of 18 October 2010.
| Stock index | Old spread | New spread |
|---|---|---|
| FTSE® 100 | 2 | 1 point |
| Wall Street | 4 | 2 points |
| Germany 30 | 2 | 1 point |
Please note: The table above represents the lowest available spreads on these markets, available only during in-hours. Spreads may be wider when the underlying market is closed and during extended hours.
Why trade indices?
Stock indices are one of the most popular forms of CFD trading. They give a wider view of market sentiment than individual shares, allowing you to take a broad position with just a single trade.
The FTSE® 100, for example, represents the collective market movement of the most highly capitalised companies on the London Stock Exchange, covering a wide range of economic sectors.
Huge range of markets
As well as our popular FTSE® 100, Wall Street and Germany 30 markets, we also offer competitive spreads on a huge range of other, exotic global indices, including European, Asian and Australasian markets.
In addition to stock index CFDs, we also offer competitive spreads on various forex pairs, commodities and individual shares from around the world.
