Firewall
Our platform uses various types of Java applet and client-side script during its operation. However, these functions may be disabled by certain firewalls and antivirus software.
The following information details the settings we recommend in order to run our interface, and may be useful if you are experiencing problems. If these problems persist, please call us and we will be pleased to help in person.
Zone Alarm, Black Ice Defender, McAfee Personal Firewall
These should not affect the interface.
Zone Alarm Pro
1. Open your Zone Alarm Pro main menu. There are three main items in the centre of the window: Cookies, Ad Menu and Mobile Code
2. Click on the Custom button next to Cookies and a new window will appear
3. Make sure 'Block 3rd Party Cookies' checkbox is unchecked
4. Click on the 'Ad Menu' tab at the top of the window
5. Make sure that the 'Pop up/Pop under' checkbox is unchecked
6. Click on the 'Mobile Code' tab at the top of the window
7. Make sure the following checkboxes are all unchecked
a) Block javascript
b) Block scripts
c) Block Embedded Objects
d) Block MIME type integrated objects
Kaspersky
1. Open your Kaspersky main menu. Select Web Anti-Virus on the left
2. Click on the Customize button in Web Anti-Virus
3. Make sure the scan method is set to 'Use streaming scan', then click Ok to finish
4. In the main menu select Anti-Spy on the left, then click on Settings button on the right for Anti-Banner
5. Add 'www.igindex.co.uk' to trusted sites, then click OK to finish
PC-Cillin 2000
Open the main PC-Cillin from the programs menu and a new window will open. Select Webtrap from the menu on the left hand side, and then check 'Enable Web Security' on the right hand side of the window and 'Prompt for action' under the 'Action when malicious programs are found' section.
Norton Internet Security 2002
1. Open the main console window
2. From the left hand menu select Personal Firewall, then Personal Firewall Settings
3. On the right hand side click Custom Level
4. A new window with three pulldowns will appear. Set them as follows:
a) Personal Firewall: High - Block Everything
b) Java Applet Security: Medium - Prompt Me Each Time
c) Active X Control Security: Medium - Prompt Me Each Time
5. From the left hand menu select Privacy Control
6. On the right hand menu check the Enable Privacy checkbox and move the slider beneath it to medium
Norton Antivirus
1. Select status from the left hand menu
2. Set the following options on the right hand side of the window
a) Auto protect - on
b) Email scanning - on
c) Script blocking - off
McAfee Privacy Service
1. Select Options from the left hand menu
2. Click on the Cookies tab
3. Add this site to the accept cookie websites
4. Close the service
Configuring Avast
PDFs require Adobe Reader, which is available free from Adobe.

We cannot be held responsible for any problems arising from any other sites you enter with these settings. We will try to keep this information up-to-date, but you may find more recent updates on the vendors' own product sites.
